Cathy McDavid 's children's book manuscript, Billie Frankenstein, won first place in the Hot Prospect Contest in Young Adult category.

Cathy McDavid was offered a two-book contract with Harlequin American, with the working title of Bear Creek Ranch II and III (both sequels to the August 2008 release, Cowboy Dad.

Tina Lavon's Liquid Hypnosis is a finalist in the suspense category of the Eppies

Jennifer Ashley sold the German translation rights to the first three books of the Ashley Gardner mystery series, to a German publisher in a nice deal.

Peggy Parsons sold another novel to Wings e-press, Yours Till Niagara Falls is scheduled for November 2008

Kayla Janz received three new reviews for Chloe's Christmas, 5 hearts from The Romance Studio, 4.5 cherries from Whipped Cream, and a B+ from Simply Romance.

Brit Blaise is a finalist in the Brava Authors Novella Contest with her story It Can Happen to You.

Calista Fox sold another (untitled) story to Ellora's Cave. Her Red Sage publishing release of Object of Desire is pushed back from December 2008 to Summer 2008.

Lynn Logan sold a short erotica to the Wild Rose Press, titled, Sex, Lies and DVDs.

Vijaya Schartz's short story SLEEPING BEAUTY is posted on the Romantic Times Reviews website, but don't expect the same old fairytale. You can read it as well as other fairytales from others authors HERE.

Jennifer Ashley  won the RITA Award for Best Novel with Romantic Elements at the RWA National Convention in July. The book was A Lady Raised High: A Novel of Ann Boleyn, written as Laurien Gardner. Jennifer also won a Golden Quill Award for her novella, Viva Las Vampires.

Linda Andrews signed a three book contract with Zumaya Publications. They also asked Linda to write a short story for their new anthology Apocalypse 2012.

Kayla Janz sold Chloe's Christmas: A Cinderella Story to Whiskey Creek Press, scheduled for a December 2007 release.

Cathy McDavid's book The Gate to Eden, is a finalist in the Aspen Gold contest, Historical category.

Suzan Yarina's latest release, Best Man For The Job, is a Golden Quill finalist for the Mainstream Category.

Two of our members were nominated for Cameo Awards for their book trailers made by our member Kendra Egert at Scrapfairy Designs, who had seven videos nominated for these awards. Tina Gerow won the Romantic Times Reviewer's Choice Award with Into A Dangerous Mind for best Small Press Contemporary.

Jennifer Ashley won the Romantic Times Reviewer's Choice Award in Historical Romantic Adventure with Penelope & Prince Charming.

Anaz-voohri by Vijaya Schartz, was nominated for a 2006 Ecataromance Reviewers Choice Award in the Science-Fiction category (for the e-book version that came out in September 2006)

Cheyenne McCray's Kalina's Discovery was awarded a prestigious Ecataromance Reviewer's Choice Award for best book during the second half of 2006.

Calista Fox was offered a contract by Red Sage Publishing, for her single title action/adventure/erotic romance Object Of Desire. She was also contracted for a novella titled One Wish for their Secrets anthologies.

Cheyenne McCray is a finalist in the Passionate Ink's 2006 Passionate Plume Contest for published authors, with Seduced by Magic.

Jennifer Ashley accepted a three book contract for paranormal and historical romance from Dorchester.

Peggy Parson contracted with Wings ePress for One Stolen Night, an inspirational, to be published in May 2008.

Jennifer Ashley is a finalist in the prestigious Rita Awards with A Lady Raised High the Ann Boleyn book she wrote for Berkley as Laurien Gardner. Winners will be announced at RWA National Conference in July 2007

Christine Eaton Jones and Beverly Petrone, writing as Tia Dani, sold a short erotic story to The Wild Rose Press, titled Layover.

Shelley Mosley writing with Deborah Mazoyer as Deborah Shelley, sold Marriage 101 to Avalon. Shelley Mosley is also the co-author with several librarians of The Complete Idiot's Guide to the Ultimate Reading List which should be out July 3, 2007.

Calista Fox sold her third novella, Intimate Rendez-vous, to Red Sage for the Secret anthologies, to come out in December 2007. And Secret Rendez-vous will be released in the 2008 anthology.

Carol Webb placed first in the Emily Contest for Shrouded in Mystery, in their paranormal category!

Cheyenne McCray received multiple CAPA awards for BDSM and Paranormal Erotic.

Eden Robin's After Sundown Redemption won the Romance Studio's CAPA Psyche Award!  The same novel was nominated for a RT Reviewers Choice Award!  Eden will also publish short stories on the Romantic Times Magazine website.

Tina LaVon made it to round seven of eliminations in the First Line Contest, organized by the CAPA website.

Kathryne Kennedy was offered a contract by Dorchester for her fantasy historical romance Enchanting The Lady, tentatively scheduled for release in January 2008.

Tina Gerow's Into A Dangerous Mind was nominated for the RT Reviewers Choice Award in the Best Small Press 2006 category.

Tina Gerow and Brit Blaise learned that Knights of the Magical Realm: Warriors Gone Wild, the anthology, was nominated for an EPPIE award and is on the best-selling new & future releases list on Amazon.com.

Harlequin American offered Cathy McDavid a two-book contract. The first is a sequel to Cathy's June 2007 release. The second will be part of a new series tentatively called The State of Parenthood.

2006 NEWS:

Vijaya Schartz: Anaz-voohri received five-angels from Fallen Angels Reviews!  The mass market paperback is available now for pre-order at B&N.com, Walmart.com and Amazon.com. It's also never too late, and LOCKDOWN did get a great review from Romantic Times, and RELICS a 4.5 clovers rating from c2Kwips&Kritiques

Jennifer Ashley is officially a best-selling author! The anthology Just One Sip was #81 on USA today's list and #11 on Bookscan as of October 11, 2006. Since then it climbed the Amazon.com list for anthologies as well.

Kerrie Droban's book Running With The Devil is now posted at Amazon.com and is scheduled for release in April 2007.

Kayla Janz received five angels for Sinful Innocence from Fallen Angels Reviews and four hearts from Love Romances!

Vijaya Schartz - Her September 2006 e-book release, Anaz-voohri, just received its first review, a 4.5 clovers rating from ck2kwipsandkritiques. The reviewer loved it and the nerve-wracking wait for the first review is over. Then followed a five cups review from Coffee Time Romance.

Annette Mahon's Hawaiian romance, Dolphin Dreams, has received an offer from Avalon Books. Publication is set for April 2007. Also, Annette's latest mystery, An Ominous Death, just came out in large print.

Kayla Janz received a three-book deal for her Perfect Package series from Whiskey Creek Press!

Jennifer Ashley's Penelope & Prince Charming has spent 5 weeks on the Barnes & Noble top 50 bestsellers list and 3 weeks on Bookscan top 100.

Susan Lanier-Graham's romantic suspense, Chasing Maggie, is a finalist in the 2006 Daphne du Maurier Award of Excellence in Single Title Mystery/Suspense category. She also received one editor and two agent requests, one for Chasing Maggie, and two for her new romantic suspense, Shattered.

Ashley Gardner's The Sudbury School Murders won the RT Reviewer's Choice award for Best Historical Mystery of 2005.

Vijaya Schartz's workshops at the Ice Escape Writers Conference at the East Phoenix Sheraton in Mesa, on March 17-18-19, "12 Secrets to write Compelling Fiction" and "E-publishers, is it for you?" were so successful that they filled the room each time and Vijaya was asked to speak at several future writers conferences, including one in Las Vegas in the spring of 2007.

Jennifer Ashley accepted an offer from Berkeley to write a mainstream historical novel, tentatively titled The Queen's Handmaiden.

Laurien Gardner's novel A Lady Raised High: A Novel of Anne Boleyn, was picked up by Bookspan (Book of the Month / DoubleDay) for a hardback print.

Pat Hubbard is happy to announce that she just signed a contract with Five Star for her novel, ONLY TIME WILL TELL.  It's a blended culture suspense with romantic elements set in Monument Valley on the Navajo Indian Reservation.

Deborah Shelley (Shelley Mosley and Deborah Mazoyer) have been told that their book, It's in His Kiss, is now available in Danish. This is their second title in that language. Their books have also been translated into French and Dutch

Tina Gerow: just signed her contract for Fire Maiden with Triskelion. It will come out in June 2006. She is now working her derriere off to finish it. Stone Maiden was also chosen for the bi-yearly EcataRomance Reviewer's Choice Award.

Evanell's manuscript arrested the interest of Granite Publishing in Utah. They like it but it's too long and pushes the envelope for their inspirational line. They asked Evanell to submit a shorter manuscript, which she will do shortly.

Jan Walkosz signed a contract with Whiskey Creek Press for the sequel to Unveiled Treasures entitled Sinful Innocence. Sinful Innocence is scheduled for release September 1, 2006.

Ashley Gardner's mystery novel, The Sudbury School Murders, was nominated for a Romantic Times Reviewer's Choice Award for best Historical Mystery of 2005.

Vijaya Schartz received two five star reviews for The Garrison Lockdown,  and a four-star review from Ecataromance. Another of her novels, Operation Pleiades - RELICS, just received a three-star review from Romantic Times. Vijaya also received an award for her seven years of service as President of the Arizona Authors Association, in front of the press, during the Arizona Literary Awards Banquet.

Calista Fox sold Simon's Wicked Web to Liquid Silver Books. The contemporary erotic romance will be released in the spring of 2006, under her pseudonym Ava McKnight. Calista is also excited about the sale of Shameless to Venus Press, also to be released under Ava McKnight. The Invitation was chosen for the Over The Mood Award for 2005 for short story sci-fi. May Reviews.

Rhonda Woodward's December release, Lady Emma's Dilemna, is a nominee for the Romantic Times Reviewer's choice Award for the best Regency Romance.

Kerrie Droban received a book contract for her true crime book with Lyons Press? Release date will be Fall 2006. Her fiction is still outstanding with Robin Rue at Writer's House and Paige Wheeler at Creative Media.

Laura Phelps' manuscript, Strings of Love, is a finalist in the short contemporary category of the Golden Rose contest for the Rose City Romance Writers in Portland, Oregon. The judge for the final round is Wanda Ottewell of Silhouette Desire.

Jennifer Ashley was invited to write a novella for a vampire anthology, due out in 2007. She will also launch a series called "The Immortals" written with other authors. She will write book 1 and 4, The Calling, and The Gathering. The series will be an erotic paranormal series for Dorchester.

Allyson James made four sales to Ellora's Cave, Tales of the Shareem: Rio (novel), Planetary Passions: Gemini (novel), Dragonmagic (a short story for Ellora's Cavemen anthologies due out in March 2006.

Tina LaVon placed second in the long contemporary category of Toronto's Original Golden Opportunity contest. On a related note, Julie Barrett of Bombshell indicated that she'd like to see more of Liquid Hypnosis.  Yeah, Tina!

Theresa Meyers was thrilled to hear that she is a finalist in the American Tigle 2 contest in Romantic Times for her historical, The Devil's Maiden.

Vijaya Schartz' novel RELICS from Triskelion Publishing received a three-star review in Romantic Times. Although the book received many five-star reviews and finaled in the Golden Quill awards, it's quite an achievement for such an unusual category as Romantic Sci-Fi suspense.

Marion Ekholm sold another short story to True Love, titled: "I Was Kidnapped Before My Wedding."
